In britain 2 tv companies have at last included genuinely disabled people, in prominent programmes such as The Bill..A police drama series, and Casualty Britain's answer to E.R unfortunately without anyone to compare with Goran Visjnic............

This is all fine and dandy, until, you realise how few episodes actually feature the disabled character. In The Bill for instance, the character Ritchie is hardly seen or heard, and might as well not exist...the inclusion of these disabled characters is obviously nothing more than a cynical attempt to shut up the moaning crips by supposedly including the regulation disabled actors. If I was either of these guys I'd be extremely angry at the 1/2 arsed inadquate way that ITV and the BBC are treating disabled actors...

ah, well I don't actually watch either of the programmes mentioned above - used to but they became too much like soap operas for my liking, however ... you should watch balamory on cBeebies - honestly, political correctness ... now bearing in mind that balamory is apparently an island in the orkneys (excuse spelling) where there are probably only about 100 inhabitants, they have two black people, one in a kilt, a woman in a wheelchair ... like i said, political correctness ... grin

That is it in a nutshell and of course tv companies are running scared due to the DDA and upcoming Disability Rights Act, that they daren't refuse...hmm Balamory I would however having spent a terrible 8 days being drenched in freezing rain, on Mull, where the show is filmed. Alas Balamory would only dredge up a raft of traumatic memories
